Lets explore the rivers, walkways, bridges, castles, lilypads, coasts and trees closest to us in central Scotland. We are lucky to be surrounded by inspirational and unique scenery to help us as we start our creative adventure with Odd trod arts.

The wee dauner can be a way get to know artists in your area, return to some botanical studies, observe, sketch and connect with others.

As with all the odd trod adventures we start with exploring the landscape, doing rubbings, studies, collecting some stones or shells, mindfullness. Being familiar with the surroundings is a key into a successful artwork.

As a group we will discuss the materials in your plein air kit, your easel and the rest of your materials, how to use them and when. As a group we can look at the light where it hits, identifying shadows a composition and building confidence in yourself as an artist. Ill be working closely with the group, ( you might not need me!) guiding you and helping find a composition.

This is an introduction to making marks in plein air, in nature and so would be suited to beginners or someone taking a gentle return to mark making. I want you to enjoy your time in nature and share that with the group, talk about what you like what you want to improve, this is your artwork to take home!

This is your chance to dip your toe in and try something new or a chance to renew your connection with art and nature.

I follow up sessions with online peer to peer support and you can opt in for a online tutorial. I want to build a community of odd trodders to share and support each other in their art adventure!

All materials included. Call to register your interest and book up.
