Masters creating depth

Camille Pissarro, Paul Cezanne and all the masters enjoyed looking for tricks of the eye to lead a viewer into a painting. These visual effects can help the reader to explore the painting. For example in this painting, the tree in the fore ground is immediately recognisable and it curls round and leads you to the vocal point in the horizon, creating a sense of depth
